Three acrylic on A4

One acrylic on A3

As a series, I think the first three connect rather well. The last image is the weakest. Compared to Routes III these are a lot darker in colour. I did try to keep them lighter but I remember on this particular not being in the best of moods. Which clearly impacted on the results.

Keeping in mind of Lefebvre's critique of 'the everyday'. I've noticed that despite repainting the same routes and streets over and over the results are different. I never changed the reference for this series. The practice is now backing up the theory that the everyday changes.

"Everyday life does not exist as a generality."

Lefebvre, H. (2008). Art and the Everyday. In: Stephen Johnstone The Everyday. London: The MIT Press. p26-34.
