Assembling cardboard cutouts in an attempt to see how I could get a 3D form. Cardboard was very flimsy and would need a lot of reinforcement. Better to find an alternative, sturdier material that also has a more refined finish.

Swapping the paper for fabric. Used a standard, non-stretch cotton. Pretty much canvas. Keeping in mind that these are expanded paintings.

The fabric worked better with the starch and sealant sprays. They also have a softer, nicer drape. Thinking about the work of Sam Gilliam here.

Fabric casts, tub of acrylic, lamp and stair handle, in starch and sealant sorays.

Now working towards producing a final outcome. These sketches are showing a possible 3D outcome. Thinking about the cardboard cut outs and how I could alter them into 3D versions.
